Dr. Christianna Mai-Choua Hang
Dr. Christianna Mai-Choua Hang is the founder and first superintendent of Hmong College Prep Academy (HCPA). Opening its doors in 2004, HCPA was grounded in world cultures and college readiness in all aspects of its academic programming. Dr. Hang initiated the development and planning of the Academy through her strategic management, educational programming expertise, and technical support from 2000 to 2021. Under her vision and guidance, a far larger campus was utilized and later renovated with a state-of-the-art auditorium, a multi-purpose outdoor sports facility, and many more classrooms to accommodate the growing number of families enrolling their children. During her tenure, HCPA grew from 200 9th and 10th-grade students in 2004 to 2,350 K-12 students today, making it the largest single-site charter school in Minnesota.
