Hello HCPA Students and Families,
Since transitioning to distance learning, HCPA has continued to monitor community trends and numbers of staff/student positive COVID-19 cases. With this information on hand, HCPA has decided to extend our Temporary Distance Learning an additional week through the end of Semester 1. Students will continue with their current distance learning schedules for January 24th through January 27th. January 28th will remain a “No School” day for students and a grading/professional development day for staff.
The goal is to resume in-person learning on Monday, January 31st for the start of Semester 2. However, HCPA will continue to monitor positive cases to ensure that the operation of the school is feasible and safe. Please continue to report any positive COVID-19 cases within your household to HCPA in order for us to maintain accurate data.
An additional date for student food distribution has also been added for Tuesday, January 25th from 10AM to 5PM. Registration is not required for food pick-up.
Thank you for your support during this time. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at 651-209-8002.

Secondary Daily Expectations
-
Distance Learning Expectations
Students are expected to go online daily, attend live (synchronous) classes via Google Meets or Zoom, and complete the tasks assigned by the teacher. HCPA encourages students to do their best to maintain a daily schedule by logging in during the regular bell schedule.
Student Attendance
In accordance with state requirements, Hmong College Prep Academy will continue to take attendance during distance learning. Accountability for learning (completing assignments/assessments) will be separated from showing up for distance learning (attendance).
Student attendance will be determined by attending live class and/or submitting work and attendance post. Ideally we would like all students to attend live sessions, but some may need to help support younger siblings with online learning.
If students are ill and are unable to engage in distance learning, parents should call HCPA to inform staff and update attendance. Please call the attendance hotline at 651-332-8567, or call the main office at 651-209-8002.
● In 6th through 12th grade, attendance will be tracked daily.
