      Online Distance Learning

      • January 5th 2022

        Hello HCPA Parents/Guardians,

Omicron cases continue to surge throughout the United States, and with a return to school after the holidays, HCPA has been closely monitoring how it impacts our teachers, staff, students, and families.  In anticipation of growing cases of COVID-19 due to close contacts over winter break, Hmong College Prep Academy will be transitioning temporarily to distance learning for the next two weeks.

        • On Wednesday, January 5th, all K-12 students will be given their technology devices to bring home.
        • On Thursday, January 6th, there will be NO SCHOOL for students. Teachers will spend the day preparing materials and curriculum online.
        • Distance learning from home will begin on Friday, January 7 Class schedules will run as normal with live classes and work posted to Schoology (3-12) and Seesaw (K-2).
        • Students will return to school on-site on Monday, January 24th.

During this time, we highly encourage all families to take extra precautions regarding social distancing and large gatherings to further prevent the new cases of COVID-19.

        Student Attendance

In accordance with state requirements, Hmong College Prep Academy will continue to take attendance during distance learning. Accountability for learning (completing assignments/assessments) will be separated from showing up for distance learning (attendance).

Student attendance will be determined by attending live class and/or submitting work and attendance post.  Ideally we would like all students to attend live sessions, but some may need to help support younger siblings with online learning.

If students are ill and are unable to engage in distance learning, parents should call HCPA to inform staff and update attendance. Please call the attendance hotline at 651-332-8567, or call the main office at 651-209-8002.

        ●        In 6th through 12th grade, attendance will be tracked daily.
